CHALLENGE: Embedded media files key for publisher’s enhanced eBooks plans

One of the world’s largest STM publishers produce nearly 1,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 1,500 new books annually, both in print and online. As it embarked on a major eBook conversion, the company recognized that it needed to enhance a number of eBooks using media files (audio, video) and convert them into a format suitable for iPad devices. The files at that time were unsuitable for conversion to mobile devices like the iPad and the publisher needed to get those up and running in order to meet aggressive goals.
