Product Liability Class Action Suit for the US Federal Government
The Challenge: The US Federal Government and US State Attorney General contracted SPi to code over 4 million evidentiary documents in just 90 days. The project demanded rigorous processing and turnaround requirements during a critical phase of this multi-jurisdictional legal action.
The Solution: We trained and certified more than 250 document coders for the rigors of this particular project. Working around the clock, our coders processed over 4 million pages of evidentiary documents using a case-specific coding manual that we customized specifically for the project. Due to our deep domain knowledge and expertise in litigation coding, we met our clients' deadline with flawless performance. As proof that we had exceeded all requirements, we delivered a consistent document-based coding accuracy rate of 99% (as opposed to 95 to 97%, which represents the industry range of accuracy for coding). Every batch of data coded during this timeframe was approved on the first inspection by an independent review firm.
Value Delivered: From over 4 million pages of evidentiary data, SPi successfully coded and classified the information needed by its client. Fittingly, we are the only off-shore organization certified to perform document coding for one of the largest U.S. Government departments.
