Security

SPi Healthcare understands the importance of protected health information and maintains electronic and physical security safeguards that meet or exceed government regulations and industry best practices.

Electronic Security
SPi is one of the few medical transcription companies to receive the ISO 27001:2005 certification for Information Security Management. All data is password protected, and data transmissions are protected using 128-bit Blowfish encryption and VPN security.

Physical Security
All SPi Healthcare production facilities share the same intensive 7x24x365 security safeguards including security personnel at the entrance of each production facility and access control doors that protect areas with confidential information.

From the exterior of the building to individual computers and staff, SPi uses robust, redundant layers of electronic and physical security to ensure that your healthcare information is safe.

HIPAA Compliance
It is easy to talk about HIPAA compliance, but significant resources and continuous vigilance are required to maintain it. SPi Healthcare employs a HIPAA compliance officer who works in conjunction with a HIPAA consultant to assess and monitor HIPAA compliance and to refine SPi Healthcare’s policies and procedures with respect to HIPAA and state and federal laws. One of the key functions of the HIPAA compliance officer is to work closely with SPi Healthcare staff members to train and update them on the evolving privacy regulations.
