Game Management
In-game Enforcement and Monitoring
In-game enforcement goes hand in hand with In-game monitoring. Simply put, we can’t just look the other way when we see a player who is exhibiting offensive behavior while we are monitoring the game for inaccessible maps or areas.
These are some of the specific tasks involved:
- Player Interaction – chatting with the players in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner. Conversations can range from game issues to who their favorite artist is.
- Game Feature Checking – ensuring that all the elements of the game are in place and working as intended. This includes investigating player reports e.g. monster spawn rates or item drops.
- Accessibility Monitoring – game connectivity checks.
- Patrolling – moving undetected within the game to check for abusive players or to see if there are players trying to take advantage of in-game bugs that have not yet been fixed.
- Policy Enforcement – ejecting, suspending, or reprimanding players who are caught committing violations during patrols.
In-Game Event Management
In-game events are run on a regular basis to keep the players interested. We provide support to both system-generated events and GM events. System-generated events require minimal moderation since they are built into the game. GM events are those that require GM presence due to the event’s storyline or certain mechanics. We also conceptualize GM events for the client’s approval.
These are the specific duties we perform when supporting events:
- Conceptualization – event proposal creation, consisting of all the necessary elements to run the event.
- Announcement – support via in-game announcements as well as through other channels.
- Execution –performance of event specific tasks based on the event’s mechanics.
- Prize Awarding – rewarding deserving players with in-game prize items.
- Event Reporting –compilation of data containing player feedback, winners, prizes awarded, etc.
